U of O Scholarships for Oregon Scientists available to students

Oregon high school seniors interested in a career in science can apply for the Scholarships for Scientists program through the University of Oregon to help reduce financial burdens with scholarships.

Nominations open for 11th annual Crystal Apple Awards

Seven Eastern Oregon school districts receive nearly $160K in grant funding for improved broadband connectivity

Seven school districts in Eastern Oregon are recipients of the Oregon Department of Education’s Last Mile Connectivity grants, which will fund bringing broadband Internet connections to these rural classrooms. The seven grants total nearly $160,000.

UMESD Supt. appointed to state Quality Education Commission

Dr. Mark Mulvihill, superintendent of the Umatilla-Morrow Education Service District, was recently appointed by Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski to the state’s Quality Education Commission for his dedication to “helping to shape Oregon’s future.”

It’s never too early to get “Ready for Kindergarten”

Research has shown that children ages birth to 5 learn at speeds unmatched for the rest of their lives. That’s why it’s never too early to start getting them ready for kindergarten. The Umatilla-Morrow Education Service District’s Ready! for Kindergarten program offers free classes to help parents prepare their little ones for that first year of school.
